PADI certified with Amazing Instructors

Joe’s Gone Diving is the perfect place to get PADI certified or to book a dive trip, and Eby was an absolutely outstanding instructor. We learned about JGD after talking to a scuba instructor in Fiji and mentioning to him that we were going to Bali next. He told us that Joe’s is the best dive shop in Bali and has the best instructors for certification – and it turns out that he was right! My wife and I got open water certified and had the opportunity to dive the USAT Liberty Shipwreck, Pandangbai, and we even booked a trip to Manta Point after we were certified! Our instructor Eby had an amazing ability to be incredibly calm and encouraging as you take your first breath underwater. You feel completely safe with her below water, and when you come up to the surface for lunch she provides funny stories and great conversation! She’s a total pro!

Other positives of JGD:

– all equipment was very clean and high quality
– The dive pool and facilities are well taken care of
– The lunch provided was DELICIOUS at every dive we went on
– All instructors we met were extremely kind and happy to answer questions

Friendly, knowledgable and fun people!

Spent 2 w in Bali and dived with JGD ten or 11 times. Ethel (instr.) helped through a quick refresher, I was so rusty! Then I had the pleasure of diving with Ismael and Danni, Feby, Kyle and Juliet, at several of the famous dive sites around south east Bali. What a treat to see the mantas at Manta Point! An unforgettable experience ❤️ And the Liberty wreck at Tulamben – the two hour drive to get there is actually great, you get to see a lot of the beautiful countryside. They really spoil you with lunches, towels and great times. Equipment standard was very good, no wear and tear that I noticed. Brought my own mask, fins and computer, but set you up if you don’t bring it.

Boats are big enough, they don’t squeeze too many people into a trip. Some rough seas at one trip to Nusa Penida made a few people unwell, but they offer you seasickness pills and if I thought I’d need it, I would def take it. These guys make you feel safe, they are kind, patient and competent. I recovered my confidence and pleasure in diving with the crew, even the difficult currents dive at Candirasa was fun! Also they’re aware of the environment, we saw some sad examples of other divers touching stuff and going way too close to the mantas. I will no doubt return to Bali and to this dive shop, they made my holidays the best for a long time!

Fun dives, great learning

We did 7 dive days and one night dive with Joe’s based on a recommendation from my daughter Emma who had been diving with Joe’s in January. The 7 days included the AOW course for my son (13) with Ketut and 2 specialties for me to get my Master Scuba Diver level (DUP with Eby and Drift with Markus). Great relaxed atmosphere, timely pick ups at hotel and outstanding and professional dive masters, instructors and guides. Lots of fun, a bit of serious learning and most of all great diving. Lucky with the Manta’s at Manta Point. We will be back for more 🙂

Excellent experience getting Open Water for my daughter

Went with Joe’s Gone Diving for the first time, for my daughter’s OW certification. Only knew them through TA review. Initial email correspondence was good, responsive and flexible, with Jan able to fit my diving schedule around my daughter’s course, so we could be diving on the same locations though different group.

The instructors were great, pool session [onsite pool] was with Markus and he was thorough with all the exercises and my daughter was happy with the session.

The ocean dive sessions were with Feby or Eby. She was great, my daughter bonded instantly with her. First 2 dives were at Padang Bai, boat dive. Weather was a bit rough and getting in and out from the jukung boat [traditional balinese fisherman boat] was challenging but both dives went well.

The last 2 dives for Open Water Cert were at Liberty wreck at Tulamben. Good weather. Joe’s is using one of the resort in Tulamben as a base for diving and lunch break, and the shore entry and exit points to the dive site is just in front of the resort. Very convenient. My dive master was Kyle and he was excellent, highly recommended. Very good and thorough pre-dive plan.

Overall, I would recommend Joe’s for your dive trip in Bali. I would definitely dive with them again.

Do your training here!

We used Joes gone diving to build upon our Scuba diver licenses that we took in Spain earlier. And its quite apparent that the level of knowledge they have and the communication skills to spread this knowledge is superb. Miles ahead of what we have encountered in past experiences.

They even took the time to fill inn absolutely all the knowledge gaps we had and really hammered inn good routines right away. Something I find very important for safety reasons, and staying comfortable at all times.

Booking was easy and fast, and both email and Facebook response times were very good. So we had no issues coordinating dives/training.

The staff are relaxed and superb to be around. Just an overall good atmosphere at this place. And it comes highly recommended by both myself and my wife for anyone that wants to get their license, build upon it or just go diving!

PS. There is no Joe, he’s gone diving. Hehe

Again and again a great experience

Back in Bali after 2 years and could not be without a dive. My choice is biased as I have multiple great experience with the Joe’s gone diving Team over the past 3 years.

The overall experience starts with the quick feedback pre-diving by email communication for booking the dive spot and pick up from the hotel. Natalie has been very efficient and got all sorted out perfectly.

Pick up whilst a bit of a distance from Seminyak was on time. All the dive gear and equipment was ready when I arrived at the dive center with the info they had from my last dive 2 years back….

Dive Master, driver and allocated dive Buddy have been great and as I had done several dives in Bali in the past – Amed was a new dive site for me. Whilst a distance away (time similar to Tulamban dive-site) great place and lots of sea life. Rays, turtle, octopus, trumpet fish, moray eel, nudibranch, prawns just to name a view….

Amed was a lovely place to go diving from. Black beach and diving from small outrigger canoe’s. Lunch back at the beach restaurant and scenic area to enjoy lunch and get ready for the next dive.

Back at the base in the late afternoon, met some other people and dive masters and instructors and great atmosphere. Asked a question about the kids learning to dive and what they could not answer to a 100% came back after 5 minutes with all the answers. Very professional team.

Loved the dive shop with all the different items on sale which safes the hassle to go souvenir shopping for my kids before going back home too. Shark Memory stick and Dolphin ear rings. Lot’s of other items available too. Just perfect to finish a great day.

Look forward to go diving again the next time I am in Bali with you guy’s!!!!! Let’s see if my 100’s dive will be with Joe’s gone diving as well….

Three days of varied and great diving

I was passing through Bali in transit on a work trip so gave myself a treat and went diving with Joe’s. I did three trips, Padan Bay, Nusa Penida and Tulamben. The guides, Maria, Catur, Markus, Yolanda and Kyle were all excellent and the rental gear was all good. The boats, transport and food were all just right and even the Bali traffic was not too bad. Amongst much other beautiful underwater scenery and life I saw sea horses, heaps of Mantas and learnt a little more than I expected to about triggerfish.
