Dive Amed: relaxed diving on pretty coral reefs

Dive Amed and discover great coral reef diving with a wide variety of marine life. Amed is a village not far from Tulamben. It takes about 2 hours by car to get there. Most of the dive sites there are accessible by boat; some are also accessible from the shore. Amed offers walls with a variety of sponges, sea fans and marine life; from macro to larger marine life such as sharks and turtles. The Amed sites are generally easy dives and great for any level of diver.

Amed wall

The Amed Wall or drop-off can be reached with a short boat ride by traditional boat. This sloping drop-off consists of sand and coral reef. The variety of marine life is tremendous and you often spot larger schools of fish here, such as jack fish, trevallies and fusilier, and great macro life such as the pygmy seahorse, frogfish and pipefish. Occasionally you can spot turtles and sharks here.

Pyramids

The Pyramids in Amed offers some great coral reefs. On this slope you can find a wide-range of marine life varying from macro marine life such as the pygmy seahorse and the ornate ghost pipefish to larger marine life such as turtles and sharks. The dive site can be reached by traditional boat and is just a few minutes from the shore.

Japanese Wreck

The Japanese Wreck dive site is named because of the very small wreck you find there in shallow waters at a few metres depth. The wreck itself is full with small glass bottom fish life and cannot be accessed. The main attraction here is not so much the wreck, but the sloping reefs. On this shore dive you often find moray eels, sweetlips, puffer & porcupine fish as well at scorpion fish and octopus.
