Heat and Water in theory:
As we learned, water absorbs heat faster then air does. But why is that? There are several reasons why heat absorption is greater in water. One of them is that water is denser or has a greater thickness of matter than air. It also means water has more mass = molecules for a given volume. Heat is the energy what gets molecules moving. Hence the denser (more molecules) a substance is, the more energy (heat) it needs, which means it absorbs heat faster then a less denser substance like air for example. Another point is also the bonds within the molecules which are so called weaker or more elastic which needs more energy (heat) to overcome. So to summarize, water needs more heat energy to rise to a given temperature.

Every regulator needs servicing. How often depends on the manufacturer's recommendations, mostly once a year. So, you go to your dive shop, handover the regulator and probably a few days or week later you are back to pick it up. It looks cleaner, there is a small bag with parts and that is about it. You use the regulator again and chances are you don’t really notice the difference (except if you brought in your regulator with some issues). So what’s the point?

Let's have a look at scuba tanks, we kind of take them for granted, you arrive at the shop, get a scuba tank, we connect them to our BCD and regulator and go diving.
Scuba tanks are relatively small, yet very strong that hold large volumes of compressed gas.

To be a professional PADI instructor or Divemaster you need to know how to read environments and how to explain certain changes in conditions or have the answer to “Why can’t we dive here today as it looks perfect from the boat”. To be able to do so we need to understand what causes Water movements especially Tides, Waves and Currents. If you take your divemaster course or instructor course on Bali at Joe's Gone Diving, you will find this is great knowledge to have.

Why peak performance buoyancy?
The most important thing of scuba diving is to have excellent buoyancy control. If you have good buoyancy, you can nearly do everything underwater (which is especially great for: underwater photography, underwater videography, drift dive, underwater navigation, etc…), and you can glide effortlessly, use less air and more easily observe aquatic life without disturbing their surrounding. Great skills to have on your scuba dives on Bali.
